Direct to garment digital printing is relatively new to the textile printing industry, here at The Tee Shirt Republic, we have waited until we felt the products had evolved sufficiently to meet our standards before introducing it to our product range. After a recent trip to the USA (in 2018), we decided to purchase a state of the art Brother GTX422 direct to garment digital printing machine. Since then (Mid 2022) we have upgrated to New Brother Pro Bulk system increasing our capacity greatly to meet the demands for this service.   

Digital printing is a fantastic option for printing onto cotton t-shirts and can deliver full-colour printing onto both white and coloured shirts at the click of a button. It is perfect for short runs, one-off shirts and great for product sampling for larger runs, photoshoots, and complex designs.

At this stage, digital printing will not eliminate the need for traditional screen printing, as it is not as suitable for larger print runs due to higher ink costs, slower print time per garment and restricted colour matching.  Digital orinting process does not require separations or films like screen printing.
